Musaka for Laura and pork Souvlaki for me; and we are off and running on our culanary expedition across Greece. We were surprised about the affordability of all the meals. Not just in Athens but throughout all of Greece. Of course you can find higher end reastuarents and we did but that is so unnecessary. Ten to twelve euro meals are usally just as tasty. They give you so much food you‘ll probably take a doggy bag for later or lunch the next day. Deserts are usually free.

The guy said six so I thought, Wow six euros for a gyro sandwich that’s a pretty decent price! Turns out it was six euros for both Gyros.
Three euros each plus six euros for two Cokes and we both had a very tasty lunch for a total of twelve euros. No taxes required and no tips expected but we always round up the tab to leave a small tip.

The story goes that the ship Dimitrios was smuggling cigarettes when it lost power during a storm a was washed ashore by the tide and high winds. I’m not sure if I believe that legend but I do know the area has some of the best beaches we found anywhere in Greece.
