A week in Lisbon was a fantastic start, now it’s time to hit the road for the Epic European Road Trip 2024. It starts with dragging our luggage down 54 steps down to the street level below.
After a three hour drive we arrive at the Airbnb in Porto. Following the nitty gritty of Lisbon we are thrilled to find this city dripping with charm and oh! so!! clean!!!

Livraria Lello bookstore is a must-see sight when visiting Porto! It’s known as one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world and is even known as the Harry Potter bookstore! But is there really a link with Harry Potter? Who were the Lello brothers, and why is this bookstore so famous?
The Rabelo boat is a traditional Portuguese wooden cargo boat that was used for centuries to transport people and goods (mostly wine barrels) along the Douro River. It is flat-bottomed, with a shallow draught, which was necessary to navigate the often shallow fast-flowing waters of the upper Douro.
