The Pont de Pierre, or “Stone Bridge”
Pont de Pierre was the first bridge over the river Garonne at Bordeaux, it planned and designed during the First French Empire, under the orders of Napoleon I.
La Cité du Vin, wine museum, has become one of the city’s main touristic attractions. Inaugurated in 2016, the wine museum was created to celebrate wine culture around the globe and educate visitors about winemaking and its history.
The Jacques Chaban-Delmas Bridge,
the largest vertical-lift bridge in Europe.
The four vertical structures on this draw bridge are equipped with a system of pulleys that raise and lower the center section of the road bed.
I came by twice, at no time was I able to see it lifted.
